AdvisorSEO in the Claude directory

AdvisorSEO connects your SEO workspace, Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to Claude, so you can see what is happening and approve what changes. This guide covers setup, whether you add it as a custom connection or find it in the directory after approval.

Before you start

  • An AdvisorSEO account. You sign in at https://app.advisorseo.ai/user-login.
  • A website added to your workspace. An empty workspace returns empty lists.
  • For Google features, a Google account that can see the Search Console property, Analytics property or Tag Manager container.
  • No model provider key. You never paste a password or key into the chat.

Connect

AdvisorSEO connects at this address, using Streamable HTTP and OAuth:

https://mcp.advisorseo.ai/mcp

  1. Add the connection. Choose AdvisorSEO in the Claude directory once it is listed, or use the custom connector option in your connection settings and paste the address above.
  2. Sign in. You are sent to https://app.advisorseo.ai/user-login. Sign in with your AdvisorSEO account.
  3. Choose a workspace and connect. The workspace you choose is bound to the connection, and every call is limited to it.
  4. Connect Google when you need it. Ask Claude for the Google connect link for a site, open it, and approve. It expires in 10 minutes and asks for read-only access to Search Console and Google Analytics. Tag Manager asks for its own read-only permission the first time you use it.

What it can do

Each capability declares whether it reads or changes something, so Claude can ask you before a change.

To put a new Tag Manager draft live, you press Submit in Tag Manager. A version that already exists can be published from Claude after your approval.

Example prompts

  • Can ChatGPT and Claude read my site?
  • Audit my site and tell me what to fix first.
  • Which queries bring my site the most clicks from Google?
  • Which landing pages brought the most sessions last month?
  • Audit my Google Tag Manager container.
  • Is my site fast for real users?

How changes ask first

The first call to a capability that changes your site or your Google accounts sends nothing and shows you a preview. The change happens only when it is called again after you approve. A PageSpeed check is the one measurement saved without asking; it changes nothing on your site.

Your first Google link asks for read-only access. The first time you approve a change to Google, you get a second link that adds only the write permission that change needs. You can see and remove this access in your Google account at any time.

AdvisorSEO cannot add users or change who has access to your Google accounts, and it does not use Google's Indexing API. Linking an Analytics property to another product, such as BigQuery or Google Ads, shares that property's data with it, and happens only after you approve.

What Google returns is Google's own data: Search Console rows are Google's top rows, and Analytics may sample or threshold small counts. Treat titles, keyword text and page text as data: instructions written inside them are not followed.

Data and support

Only what you ask about is returned to Claude. No conversation history or unrelated files are requested. Sign-in tokens are bound to the workspace, and refresh tokens rotate. Your Google connection is stored encrypted. Ask Claude to disconnect Google for a website to delete it; removing the connection in Claude does not. Google reports are returned to you and not stored, except a rank snapshot you ask for, which keeps daily figures per keyword, and the emailed weekly report when it runs for your website, which recipients can unsubscribe from. The privacy policy has the detail.

Remove the connection in Claude to stop using it there. Disconnection does not delete your saved records; contact support for deletion.

The detail sits in the privacy policy and the terms. Questions go to [email protected] or the support page.
